Today is my first featured TVP Model blog post! Welcome to it. (for all my non-readers, her image collection is about the bottom, scroll down if words just aren't your thing).
Some of you might be unaware of what TVP or The Vaunt Project is, its a photography project I started in the fall of 2017 for women. First of all you might be wondering what the word "vaunt" even means so here ya go...
verb: vaunt; 3rd person present: vaunts; past tense: vaunted; past participle: vaunted; gerund or present participle: vaunting
boast about or praise (something), especially excessively.
I thought it was the perfect fit for what I wanted my photos for this project to express. I want my TVP models to feel like a work of art and I love creating visual art so in turn The Vaunt Project was created.
Today's featured TVP Model is Bev. Bev is a creative herself. She loves interior design and vintage everything. I met Bev in Nashville where we bartended together at a local music venue. She has become a dear friend and we have now had two sessions for TVP. One of her sessions was held in my studio and one in her Victorian East Nashville home that is decked out in vintage everything. From her rad furniture and decor to her even radder (is that a word?) wallpaper. The first time I walked into Bev's place I immediately started to drool. See more from shooting at Bev's and the mini sessions we have coming up at this badass location here.
One of my latest endeavors is to semi-interview if you will, my TVP models and get the inside scoop on how they feel now that they are a TVP model and to introduce you guys to the inner workings of these girls. But first for the record two things: 1. I am currently typing this on a Sunday evening while eating a pizza and I probably have a ton of spinach in my teeth (my husband bought the spinach pizza...I would have gone pepperoni). 2. We are all individuals with things that drive us and make us happy in this life. I want us to celebrate our individuality and lift each other as much as we can. Let's start with Bev...
Linds: How did you hear about The Vaunt Project?
Bev: Lindsey is my friend and past co-worker
Linds: When did you have your session for The Vaunt Project?
Bev: End of December and middle of January [2 sessions now]
Linds: Did you enjoy your session? What was your favorite part of the whole experience?
Bev: Definitely! [My] favorite parts were finally wearing some cool clothes I own that I've never worn, the opportunity to be creative, spending the day hanging out with Lindsey and the exciting image debut!
Linds: Do you feel like your session changed how you feel about yourself?
Bev: I believe I already have a pretty good grasp of my true self but it made me believe I *can* be photogenic haha.
Linds: Would you have another session like this? Or what would be your dream session look like?
Bev: I would love to have another session like this! And so many ideas for dream sessions haha! Also my house is pretty much a dream and Lindsey and I are planning mini sessions there [for other girls to join the fun]. ;)
Linds: What is your occupation? Or what drives you?
Bev: Bar manager/bartender at a music venue.
Linds: Are you from Nashville? If not what brought you here?
Bev: I originally moved to Nashville to attend college. After graduating I moved away for about a decade and returned in 2014. I didn't know if I would be sticking around but ended up quickly loving it again and meeting such cool people I'm happy to still be here and call it home.
Linds: If you could change anything about your session what would it be?
Bev: In my second session I should have worn false lashes like I did in my first session haaaaa.
Linds: This can be a hard question for women to answer, but I think it's good practice to be able to say as women what we love about ourselves. What would you say you love about yourself the most? Physically and who you are as a person?
Bev: There are certainly things that aren't physically ideal to me about myself and things I am continuously practicing changing about me as a person, but one thing I love about myself is that I'm self aware. I know who I am and I'm true to myself. Also I can keep a secret like nobody's business [pun intended], I'm a supportive and loyal friend, I'm empathic and I'm the opposite of a mean girl. I believe in myself and have confidence. Physically I love my green eyes and my hair and skin. Some things physically are impossible to attain depending on what you're born with. Work with what you got, focus on the good stuff, and love yourself. It can take practice to get there but if you ultimately love yourself, you will love those around you better too.
Linds: And lastly if there was anything you could tell the world what would it be? (This can be your favorite quote, the best advice you have ever received, a change you wish for in the world, something you believe more people should practice to live a happy life or anything else you feel is important in this short life we get to live).
Bev: Let go of your ego. Do not let your ego control you and your actions and decisions. It does not make you a better, happier person. Life is short and the most important thing we have to offer is love. For every living being ❤️
Thanks Bev! I love this! It can be such a serious challenge for women to name just one small thing they love about themselves. Its such a breath of fresh air when my girls can say out loud something they love and appreciate about themselves physically and in their character. And because it is so hard to say I know it's true when they can say it knowing that I have plans to share it with all of you. Can you name one thing you love about yourself without fear of judgement?? I dare you to leave it in the comments ;) If that is too hard just DM me, I'd love to hear what you have to say! I know most of you won't, but maybe someone will accept the challenge?
Ready to see some of Bev's images from her shoots? I love revisiting her session, so here is the fun part for me ;)

Thanks for joining me on my first featured TVP model blog. If you find yourself interested in having a session of your own for The Vaunt Project just give me a shout. No modeling experience necessary. I coach all my girls through their entire sessions on posing and with what wardrobe will work best.
