Hey y'all! I'm finally getting around to another blog. I would love to blog every week with a different featured TVP lady, but I'm still working on finding my balance between booking, set design, editing and all the fun biz stuff in between, but I'll get there. #goals
This morning I woke up and decided before I dive back into the 4 sessions I still need to finish editing I would get a blog up! So here we go...
This session was one of my first for The Vaunt Project. We shot in October of 2017 right when I was working to get this project off the ground. Lala and I have been friends for quite a few years now and when she reached out to me to see if I would photograph her friend as a gift I suggested photographing both of them on the same day. They jumped at the opportunity and the fun began. We literally shot for hours. I was experimenting with lights and all the areas in the studio that I have to shoot in. Both ladies were super patient with me while I played with lights and sets. They drank mimosas (I may have had one too) while they basically played dress up. I clicked a million pictures and when we finished the studio looked like a serious party had gone down. Ha!
Here's what Lala had to say about her session after asked a few questions about her experience...
Lucid Linds: How did you hear about The Vaunt Project?
Lala: The beautiful Lindsey herself (she my frand (we type like we talk).
Lucid Linds: When did you have your session for The Vaunt Project?
Lala: October 2017
Did you enjoy your session? What was your favorite part of the whole experience?
Lala: I’m pretty sure I cracked a rib because we all laughed so hard. I had the fun chance to do a double shoot with my bestie. Lindsey makes you feel so comfortable and relaxed and since it’s just girls it just feels like a safe space to shed some layers and be exactly who you want to be. My favorite part was the overall experience of feeling sexy and empowered while laughing and having fun not concentrating on “being sexy”
Lucid Linds: Do you feel like your session changed how you feel about yourself?
Lala: I do. It was definitely a boost I needed.
Would you have another session like this? Or what would be your dream session look like?
Lala: I would for sure do another session in the loft just chillin. My dream session would be literally the same thing maybe with more sets and a few more “different” looks.
What is your occupation? Or what drives you?
Lala: I’m a bartender downtown. It might drive me to hurt someone. :)
Lucid Linds: Are you from Nashville? If not what brought you here?
Lala: Born and raised. Local. Unicorn. Whatever they call us. Ha.
Lucid Linds: What makes you happy in life?
Lala: The most...My friends and family
Lucid Linds: How do you spend your free time?
Lala: Literally chilling. Mainly with my dogs, my man, my friends, or myself. I crossword a lot... yeah, I’m 95.
Lucid Linds: If you could change anything about your session what would it be?
Lala: [That] It would last forever.
Lucid Linds: This can be a hard question for women to answer, but I think it's good practice to be able to say as women what we love about ourselves. What would you say you love about yourself the most? Physically and who your are as a person?
Lala: Physically- my hair. It has been a source of a lot of attention (bad and negative) in my life and I’ve always hated being “a ginger” but later in life I have embraced it as something that’s original and beautiful about myself. AS a person- I love that people feel comfortable around me. I think I’m a fun, positive person to be around.
Lucid Linds: And lastly if there was anything you could tell the world what would it be? (This can be your favorite quote, the best advice you have ever received, a change you wish for in the world, something you believe more people should practice to live a happy life or anything else you feel is important in this short life we get to live).
Lala: “Believe nothing, No matter where you read it Or who has said it, Not even if I have said it, Unless it agrees with your own reason And your own common sense.” -Buddha
Know you’re truth and stick to it y’all.
Thanks Lala! You're the best. *muah*
Here are a few more images from this shoot. I can't wait to have Casey and Lala both back in front of my lens.
